what is the difference between "VANOS" and "NON-VANOS"
JUS WONDERING WHAT THIS MEANS.?

VANOS is the BMW equivalent of Toyota's VVTI or Honda's V-TEC.
Its a variable valve timing, basically opens and closes valves individually at the best ''performance wise'' time.

how do you define which has this "vanos" are there tell tail signes?it would be interesting to see if my bmw is a vanos or a non vanos

What year did they start using the VANOS? I have a 1994 325i. I am guessing I have a VANOS on my engine. For now mine appears to be quiet, when it goes bad how much does it cost approx. to fix it?

has anyone noticed that i dont have a batery in the engine bay
lol
its in the boot why is that?? because other 318i i have seen have them in the engine bay.
would this be because she is an import.

LOL! I believe all US cars have the battery in the trunk.
